I know it might feel a little counterintuitive to order a book weeks (or even months) before you can read it. We’re all used to getting the things we want right now.

The short answer? Because our publishers tell us to ;)
The longer answer? Because preorders matter. A lot.
Preorders signal to publishers and booksellers that there’s real interest in a book. That early support can lead to bigger orders, more visibility, and ultimately, a better chance for a book to find its readers. Preordering is a small act that makes a big difference.
